The Consortium is envisioned as the founding, sponsoring, and initial policy-making body for a nationwide initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to engage Main Street America in a meaningful, results-focused process of dialogue, deliberation, problem solving and consensus building that will result in well-informed strategies and actions for addressing our national crises and creating a bright future for America.
We are currently seeking prospective members, including sponsors, funders, and leaders from business, government, not-for-profits, and civil society that are committed to effectively resolving the complex challenges facing the United States. The Consortium's members will engage in a collaborative, consensus-building process in which they develop the vision, scope, and strategy for the overall initiative and will oversee key aspects of the implementation.
Next Steps
Currently NOF is approaching leaders from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines that, we believe, are integral to launching the initiative. Once we have determined there is sufficient interest in creating a Consortium, we plan to bring the prospective members together for an initial meeting. The purpose of this and other initial meetings that may follow is to explore the vision, scope, and strategy for the initiative; clarify the nature and role of the Consortium and member responsibilities; and define next steps.
