Navigating Our Future

The Navigating Our Future Model

The nationwide, trans-partisan, community-based, participatory democracy framework and infrastructure model being proposed by Navigating Our Future (NOF) is comprised of several elements. The different elements are integrated together and work in coordination in order to amplify the strengths of the individual parts.

The key elements of the NOF model include a powerful nationwide multi-media campaign aimed at attracting the attention of and engaging Main Street America. A variety of communication mediums are used in effective combination to present important information and trustworthy facts about America's crises; to communicate a message of hope that presents realistic possibilities and opportunities for creating a bright future; and to make an explicit call to action that tells Americans how they can become part of a powerful nationwide movement to create a healthy, prosperous future.

This call to action encourages those viewing, hearing, and reading the message to enroll as members of a vital trans-partisan citizens' membership organization. Members pay a small yearly fee. In return they receive a variety of benefits. These benefits include:

  • Participation in a respectful, face-to-face and on-line process that is focused on reaching nationwide agreement on an inspiring vision for our nation's future and a combination of inter-related, actionable strategies for addressing American's crucial issues.
  • A program of trustworthy, sufficiently substantive education about the issues and solution options and major perspectives on them.
  • An on-line knowledge repository of trustworthy intelligence on national issues and opportunities, solution options, and the major positions associated with them.

In order to provide these benefits NOF's framework includes a number of innovative functions and features including:

  • A process and supporting technical infrastructure for reaching consensus.
  • A web-based platform for nationwide discussion and collaboration.
  • A way for participants and their elected government representatives to engage together in a productive interchange that best reflects the intent of our Constitution interpreted within a 21st century context.
  • A way for participants to take action on the positions they support.
  • A financial model for the campaign and citizens' membership organization that ultimately will make it possible for them to be financially self sustaining.
