Navigating Our Future (NOF) is a 501c3 social-profit organization established in 2003 whose purpose is to:
Promote and develop a nationwide, community-based framework and supporting infrastructure to increase people’s ability to:
- Be better informed about challenges faced locally and nationally and the options for resolving them,
- More effectively engage in deliberation-focused solutions,
- Reach broad agreement on shared strategies to achieve outcomes and effective action to realize them.
For nearly a decade, with subject matter specialists from across many disciplines, NOF has been developing and real-world testing in community settings, key elements of a whole systems model for community-based citizen engagement with national implications.
The model involves Americans within their communities and across the nation in a results-focused process of fact-based deliberation and solution design on urgent social, economic and environmental challenges.
This process employs powerful interactive multi-media technologies that increase effectiveness of issues education, visioning, strategizing, planning, and dirct action to create a healtier future for America.
All the individual elements required for an effective, nationwide participatory democracy process capable of moving America from vision to action now exist and are ready to be engaged and scaled.
2012 promises to be an interesting year. NOF is actively building strategic partnerships and connecting with individuals and organizations that are deeply concerned about the future of America -- across party lines and independent of ideology -- and who have demonstrated leadership in addressing one or more of the complex issues facing our nation.
We are developing and launching several new initiatives designed to lay the foundation upon which Americans, together, can build a bright future.
